National Apprenticeship Week 2021
Here at Dormor Machine & Engineering, we took part in National Apprenticeship Week.
This is an annual week-long celebration of apprenticeships that have been running for the past 14 years across England.
Since opening 40 years ago, we have developed our site in Middlesbrough and achieved significant growth.
One of the contributing factors to our sustainability and expansion is our commitment to providing apprenticeships to passionate and capable students.
Our skilled engineers have a wealth of experience to guide and train apprentices to become qualified Mechanical Engineers.
Skills and knowledge transfer are crucial to maintaining our ability to provide high-quality precision machining services.
Dormor Machine provides an extensive range of machining capabilities to learn;
starting from manual Horizontal and Vertical Boring, Turning and Milling, progressing on to our impressive CNC Programming and Machining department.
Our CNC capabilities range from 3 and 5 Axis CNC, CNC Lathes, CNC Turning and CNC Milling.
Throughout this challenging time, we continue to support our valued Apprenticeship programme. 12% of our workforce is currently in apprenticeship training supported by Northern Skills Group and ITEC North East.
Over the past week we gained some insight from our apprentices themselves:
